The best part about my job is when a couple who I photographed on their wedding day, calls me to tell me they are expecting a child and ask me to photograph their maternity portraits and the baby! Nothing makes me happier than to capture the lives of growing families! I discussed the options with them and told them about my First year package where I offer maternity, newborn, 6 month, and one year portraits and at the end of the year, I design a custom album with all the images. They decided that the First Year package was a great idea and we set up their portrait appointments. We started with a Maternity session at White Rock Lake In Dallas, TX. I love shooting a White Rock close to sunset because the light really is dreamy and makes for a perfect setting for any portrait session. A few weeks later I got the call that Matthew had been born and we were able to set up his newborn portrait session right away. Matthew was only 5 days old when I went to their home for his first portrait session. He was a perfect angel and slept well through the entire session and I was done in record time! I am so excited to get to capture this wonderful family over the next year and can't wait to see how their First Year album turns out! Be sure to let me know what you think in the comments below!
I had the pleasure of photographing Maggie and Omar's wedding last year in Dallas. They called me just before the holidays to do a portrait session of them to use in a holiday card, and also to have some updated portraits of them as a married couple with their sweet pups! I am always happy when I get to work with wedding clients after the wedding and this session was no exception. White Rock Lake is a great location for portraits. I am always finding new spots there to use in sessions. This fall, my favorite spot was an over-grown field that was the perfect backdrop to any type of portrait session. Unfortunately, shortly after this session the field was mowed, which means it will likely be next fall before the grass is tall and pretty again. I am so glad I got to use it while it lasted, but my heart broke when I realized that it had been chopped down. However, I did manage to capture this great field several times last fall and I will definitely be keeping an eye on it to grow back! Also, these doggies were the sweetest pups and such great little posers! I always encourage people to include their dogs in their family portraits. These two pups made this session so fun!
I love it when I get to work with my friends to capture their family portraits! Amy has been my best friend for going on 18 years! Her beautiful family is always so much fun to photograph. I have done several sessions with them through the years. This session turned out better than I could have imagined and I am so happy that I was able to capture the spirit of their fun family. This portrait session was done at one of my favorite Dallas locations, Central Square Park. We did this Family Portrait session in preparation of Elliana's Bat-Mitzvah. They wanted an updated portrait of the entire family as well as celebrating Elli's journey to her Bat-Mitzvah with some portraits of her with her parents. Elli's little brother, Asher, sure did steal the show with his goofy antics. He is so funny! I am glad I got to capture his awesome personality. Overall, I think this may be my all-time favorite portrait session, but I am a little biased since it's a family that I hold so near and dear to my heart. What do you think of this gorgeous family?
