Katie and Shawn's White Rock Lake engagement session

Check out my latest engagement portrait session at White Rock Lake!  Katie and Shawn are just the cutest couple and we had so much fun hanging out with their doggies at the lake for this stunning portrait session.

I am so excited to photograph their wedding in November!  As a wedding photographer, I offer an engagement session to all of my wedding photography clients so that we have a chance to work together before the wedding day.  It helps me to get a feel for what poses work best for them, as well as giving the couple an opportunity to get accustomed to my posing style.  The best part is that we get to know each other a little better and it makes things go much smoother on the wedding day when you have had a chance to work together before.

Take a look at this awesome session and tell me what you think in the comments!

Sabrenah and Aaron's Fort Worth Wedding

Sabrenah and Aaron got married last November at Art space 111 in Fort Worth, Texas.  What a cool venue!  I really enjoyed working with them and knew from our first consultation that their wedding was  probably going to be the funkiest, vintage inspired, foodie wedding I have ever witnessed and I was right!  Their wedding day was absolutely one of my all time favorite weddings ever! I knew right away that these two lovebirds were meant for each other.  They are both so creative and I think their wedding was a true testament to their style and taste.    It's better that you just go look at the photos because words can't even begin to describe it.  I will tell you one thing, my favorite part was when the Bride and Groom grabbed the mic at the reception and sang (incredibly well, I might add)  "That's all I ask of you" from The Phantom of the Opera.  And they were GOOD!  It was a really cool moment and completely unplanned.  Take a look for yourself at this wonderful day:

Gabriella's Downtown Dallas Bridal Portrait Session

Lately, my absolute favorite way to photograph bridal portraits is to have a friend drive me and the bride to several locations in the downtown Dallas area.  There are a few things about this type of session that really work for me.  First of all, it  cuts down on walking.  Which you wouldn't think would be a big deal in a portrait session, but with bridals it definitely is!  By having a friend drive us to spots in the city, we are allowed to rest our feet in between shots and cool off or warm up from whatever crazy Texas weather we are having that day.  This session with Gabriella was in the middle of the "hotter than heck"  Texas summer so getting out of the heat every 10 minutes really helped.  I assume this would also help in the winter months when  strapless dress can cause a bride to catch a chill in a few minutes time!  My favorite part about a downtown session is the variety of shots that we can get!  There are so many different backgrounds to choose from and with a chauffeur we can really cover a lot of ground fast.  The shade from the buildings creates such a great lighting that we almost never have to deal with an unflattering light.  If they are timed just right, we can also transition into a glam night-lights session!  So many possibilities in the city!  The only question is where to begin?
